Museum Imaging

Neil has extensive experience across all facets of museum object photography. He has contributed to catalogs, websites, and large-format display prints for a range of prestigious international exhibitions. For many years, he has also been closely involved in imaging the collection of the Mehrangarh Museum.

At the Asian Art Museum of the Smithsonian, Neil managed the transition from film-based documentation to digital imaging over a span of more than 20 years. He developed specialized lighting techniques for photographing gold and metal objects, as well as customized methods for capturing paintings and various three-dimensional artifacts. Beyond his precise technical skills in lighting and color accuracy, Neil brings a genuine passion for photography, combining professional expertise with creative vision.

Neil Greentree

Documentation & Survey of Painting and Built Heritage

Maniyarasan Rajendran, an architect and photographer, specializes in documenting built heritage. He works as an architectural photographer and visual documentation consultant, focusing on projects involving aerial mapping, photogrammetry, and technical imaging in architecture and conservation practice.

He holds a B.Arch from SPA Delhi, a PG in Photography Design from NID Ahmedabad, and studied at UCA Farnham, UK. Maniyarasan teaches Design and History at CARE School of Architecture, Trichy. An alumnus of the Leon Levy Foundation Centre for Conservation, he collaborates with both government and private organizations and has conducted heritage documentation workshops at institutions including CEPT. As a research scholar, architectural documentation has been the primary focus of his research.

Maniyarasan Rajendran

Documentation & Survey of Painting and Built Heritage

Wendy Rose is a wall painting conservator with specialized expertise in photogrammetric documentation. She holds an M.A. in Conservation of Wall Paintings from The Courtauld Institute of Art, London, where she researched and developed a 3D digital monitoring technique for in situ wall paintings.

Wendy has worked as a freelance cultural photogrammetry consultant, providing training and guidance on the use of photogrammetry for heritage conservation to the National Park Service, community groups, and the Lunder Conservation Centre. She currently practices as a freelance wall painting conservator based in Algiers, Algeria, and consults for the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Getty Conservation Institute on digital documentation and interpretation projects.

Multispectral Imaging

Sreekumar Menon is a paintings conservator, partner at Art Conservation Solutions in India, and a fellow of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. With over two decades of experience, he has managed and contributed to significant conservation projects across the country.

He completed his Master’s in Art Conservation from the National Museum Institute, New Delhi, followed by internships in paintings conservation at the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), New Delhi, the Hamilton Kerr Institute, Cambridge, and Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg (SRAL), Netherlands. He also holds a doctorate in Conservation of Wall Paintings from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, and has participated in Conservation Studies at Nagaur, India.

Sreekumar Menon

Handling & Preventive Care of Museum Objects

Girikumar holds a Master’s in Conservation of Works of Art from the National Museum Institute, New Delhi, followed by a year-long postgraduate internship at the Conservation Laboratory of Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Florence, Italy. He has also specialized in the Conservation of Photographic Materials at the Centre for Photographic Conservation, London.

For nearly three decades, he has worked as a conservation consultant for numerous private and institutional collections. He is regularly invited as a guest lecturer, teaching both theoretical and practical aspects of conservation in various postgraduate courses across India.

Girikumar S

Programme Co-ordinator

Dr. Sunayana Rathore is a museum professional with extensive experience in collections management, museum design and display, research, operations, and project planning. She is the curator of the Mehrangarh Museum, Jodhpur, and has worked on various aspects of museum practice, including creative planning, exhibition design and display, preventive care, and storage of objects, including those made of organic materials.

A graduate of Sophia College, she holds a Master’s degree in Heritage Management with a specialization in conservation and earned her PhD in Museology from the National Museum Institute. A native of Rajasthan, she is deeply committed to the preservation of both tangible and intangible heritage.
